Verona
ARENA
The Arena is one of the most beautiful Italian box set and it is known all over the world. The Amphitheatre in Verona (Arena di Verona) is one of the largest Roman monument and undoubtedly the best preserved. It is best known as the "Arena", which in Latin means "sand", which was used to cover the area where the Romans carried out games and shows. It is one of the largest and most prestigious archaeological monuments in Europe, the third largest amphitheater in the continent after the Colosseum in Rome and the amphitheater Campano, near Naples. Although it is known that the Arena was built in the first century AD - in the last years of the reign of Augustus Emperor - historians and architects have not yet agreed to define the exact date of its construction. Originally it was located outside the Roman walls of the city. It has survived through centuries, even if the strength of the structure has been severely tested by some earthquakes.
